Kapilvastu district is one of the Terai districts located under Province No. 5. This district is bordered by Rupandehi district to the east, Dang district to the west and Balrampur district of Uttar Pradesh, India, to the north, Arghakhanchi to the north, and Siddhartha Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, India, to the south.
This Division Forest Office was established on 27.04.2075. Since the District Forest Office has been in existence since 2037 BS, the district has been divided into two parts and two Division Forest Offices have been established. The Gudrung River in Buddhbhumi Municipality Ward No. 3 is the boundary, and the Division Forest Office Gautam Buddh is the boundary to the west of the river up to the border of Dang district and the Division Forest Office Kapilvastu is the boundary to the east of the river up to the border of Rupandehi district. There are 6 sub-division forest offices under this Division Forest Office.
Purpose
The main objectives and programs of this Division Forest Office are as follows:
Effectively implement laws , rules and policies related to the protection , development and utilization of the entire forest area of the district.
· Formulate and implement district-level plans related to forest development.
· Provide necessary technical advice to stakeholders for the development and management of private forests and agroforestry.
· To provide information on forest resources to the general public.
· To sustainably manage the district's forests through public participation in accordance with prevailing policies and laws.
· Protecting biodiversity and the environment.
· To contribute to local and national economic development by supplying timber and non-timber forest products through the conservation , development and proper utilization of forests .
· To conduct forest development and management activities in coordination with district-level government and non-governmental organizations and local bodies.
· To provide employment opportunities through forest conservation , development and utilization.
Functions, duties and powers of the Division Forest Office, Kapilvastu (Kapilvastu)
The main objective is to increase people's interest in forests by transferring them to the villagers as community forests and shared forests in accordance with the National Forest Policy, and to improve livelihoods by maintaining ecological balance and sustainable management of forests through sustainable scientific management . The division is currently operating various programs such as Community Forest Development Program , National Forest Development and Management Program , Wildlife Conservation and Tree Improvement Plantation and Private Forest Program. The Partnership Forest Management Guidelines , 2068 , and the Public Forest Management Procedures, 2071, aim to increase the productivity of forest products through public management of community forests and facilitate the supply system , and to promote inclusiveness by sharing the benefits obtained from partnership forest management among all partners in accordance with the Revised Forest Act, 2049 ( with amendments, 2073 ) . Since the past year, private forest development and promotion activities have been carried out in Yam district. In addition, the Forest Decade Campaign has initiated the work of promoting greenery in public , vacant land and riverbank lands of the Tarai, including private forest development . Due to the increasing development activities, there is a high demand for forest products such as house construction , bridge construction , subsidized wood for disaster-affected households , wood for earthquake victims, and for religious and cremation purposes . In order to improve the condition of the existing forests and increase their productivity, as per the government's policy ( sustainable scientific forest management system), forest management activities have been started for the past 9 years. This has led to the creation of second-generation The process of creating a forest is ongoing.
